Artificial Insemination

It is a simple, low-impact technique that seeks to increase the chances of pregnancy. It consists of introducing sperm unnaturally in the woman’s reproductive system, which facilitates the process of fertilization.

Types

  • Insemination with the partner's semen or donor.

Procedure

  • Paso 1Ovarian stimulation

At IVF-Life, ovarian stimulation seeks to increase the chances of pregnancy. It is customized to obtain follicles of optimal size in 10-20 days and the response is verified with ultrasounds and analysis. In artificial insemination, a follicle is stimulated for fertilization with semen in the uterus.
  • Paso 2Preparation of the seminal sample

In this process, the sperm with the greatest fertilization potential are selected.
  • Paso 3Insemination

Insemination is a quick and painless process in which the doctor deposits the semen sample with a cannula in the woman's uterus. In this way, the distance to the fallopian tube is shortened, which is the natural place where the encounter between the sperm and the egg for fertilization occurs.
  • Paso 4Pregnancy analysis

Between 12 and 14 days after the insemination, an analysis is performed to confirm if there is pregnancy. It measures the beta-hCG hormone, whose levels are a reliable marker for confirming pregnancy.
  • Paso 5Pregnancy control ultrasound

Approximately two weeks after the positive pregnancy test result, a follow-up ultrasound is performed to ensure that the gestation progresses correctly.

Who is this treatment indicated for?

  • Young patients.

  • Women who are not recommended to receive invasive punctures.
